The QTS Cedar Rapids project represents a monumental $10 billion investment in high-tech infrastructure, spanning 612 acres within the Big Cedar Industrial Center in Iowa. This massive campus is engineered for a total capacity of approximately 420 MW across seven data center buildings, totaling nearly 2.8 million square feet of space. Developed with a focus on environmental responsibility, the facility utilizes an innovative waterless cooling system and is powered through a partnership with Alliant Energy. Construction, which began in 2024 with a phased approach—each building offering roughly 300,000 square feet—aiming for a fully operational campus by the end of 2026.
